NBSC Commended for High Fund Utilization in Q2 BOT Meeting
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) conducted its second quarter regular Board of Trustees meeting on Wednesday, August 6, 2026, where the Finance Division reported a commendable performance in fund utilization.
During the meeting, Finance Division Director Khristine Joy Gubaton reported that the institution was able to achieve a 47% fund utilization rate for the first half of 2025, surpassing the previous year’s overall utilization rate of 37%. She also noted that the College recorded a 100% disbursement rate for the second quarter.
Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Commissioner Desiderio R. Apag III, D.Eng., PCpE, who presided over the meeting, praised the efforts of NBSC in strengthening financial management and accountability.
NBSC President Dr. Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, Ed.D., CESE, thanked the Chief Administrative Officers of the Department of Agriculture Region X (DA-RFO-10), Department of Economy, Planning, and Development-X (DEPDev-X), and Department of Science and Technology-X (DOST-X) for guiding the NBSC finance committee in improving the institution’s overall financial health.

Ratilla, CESO III; NBSC Faculty President Julius S. Gabinete, MBA; CSG President Dwight Ferdinand Navarro; Alumni President Malou S. Armilla; DA-X Representative and CAO Patrick Ian Pedarse; and Private Sector Representatives Dr. Almer Alfonso Sr., M.D. and Mark Johnson Malagar.
